Subscribers and Resources Directory

Corporate Subscribers and Resources Directory is intended for storage and provision of users with actual contacts of company and associated organizations employees and information about availability and state of any company resources (for example material and technical basis of a company). Corporate directory is intended for use in the companies with branched network of offices, subsidiaries, divisions.

The directory allows changing contacts of employees and offices from any company division (taking into account the access rights). Thus, when information is changed users from all offices will rapidly get actual information.

MAIN ADVANTAGES OF CORPORATE SUBSCRIBERS AND RESOURCES DIRECTORY:

  • Single entering and automatic distribution of information between company divisions (actualization)
  • Control and flexible management of users permission to access the information
  • Ergonomic user interface
  • Contacts search on known parameters, context search (filtering) when information is indicated on a display screen
  • Changing stored data set in accordance with company requirements

CONTACTS STORED IN THE DIRECTORY:

To simplify the required data search subscribers contacts stored in the directory are grouped by organizations to which subscribers and resources are relevant.

There can be 3 types of contacts stored in the directory:

  • General contact information - name, address, telephone number etc.;
  • Subscribers data - name and surname, telephone number, e-mail address etc. For more convenience subscribers relevant to some or other organization can be integrated in groups reflecting company internal structure;
  • Subscribers lists - for provision of rapid access to contacts of specific subscribers group (for example, technical support group) correspondent data can be organized in a separate “subscribers list”. Lists can include employees from different divisions and organizations.

Users permission for review and changing the information stored in the directory are specified by an administrator.

CORPORATE SUBSCRIBERS AND RESOURCES DIRECTORY COMPONENTS:

For processing contact information and providing users with access to information stored in the directory the following software tools were used:

  • Directory server - provides storage and search of information on users’ requests. In case of company branched network of offices or divisions each of them can have its own directory server which allows to accelerate data search, reduce the load on computer networks and increase divisions autonomy – reduce the dependence on network infrastructure efficiency. Separate servers automatically synchronize the stored data providing users with actual information;
  • Directory client - application installed on user’s PC and intended for review of information stored in the. The directory client has a built-in search system significantly accelerating operation;
  • Directory administrative tool - application installed on adminitrator’s PC and used for both reviewing and editing the information stored in the directory and for new data entering.

USED TECHNOLOGIES AND STANDARDS SUPPORTED:

The set of services provided by Corporate Subscribers and Resources Directory corresponds to directory services specified by international ISO/IEC 9594 (1995) standards and ITU–T recommendations of X.500 series (1993).

For data storage PostgreSQL or Oracle DBMS are used.

For data access standard LDAP can be used.
