Atoll-M Router – Network Router, Firewall

Atoll-M Router is a modular router intended for usage in multiservice corporate networks with VoIP, video, corporate application traffic.

MAIN ADVANTAGES:

  • Modular design - chassis has 4 built-in GigEth, 4 universal WAN ports (RS-232, RS-530, V.35, RS-422). Chassis has also 3 extension slots. An interface module of several types can be built into each of the slots (including GigEth, E1, Serial modules)
  • Security provision - router has a large set of security provision mechanisms. These mechanisms provide corporate users and the appliance protection from external attacks and network different segments users’ protection from each other. Built-in firewall allows filtering IP packets on any significant signs and users’ access control to network resources including Internet resources. NAT (addresses translation mechanisms) allow hiding network structure and separate hosts from violators. Logs with detalization level setting (from minimum one up to the most detailed) allow discovering invasion attempts and investigating violations taking place
  • VPN - Virtual public networking and routing between several virtual networks
  • Provision of the service quality required (Diffserv) - appliance has great opportunities of different traffic types priority management, which allows to balance loading communication channels and provide high quality of providing such services as IP-telephony and video picture translation
  • Remote administration - setting the parameters of the appliance operation is fulfilled remotely by means of special software with graphic interface. Administrative software provides description of all the parameters available. This makes the equipment maintenance and studying considerably easier
  • Low energy consumption and absence of cooling fans in construction - to increase reliability Atoll-M routers have no cooling fans (and other mechanically moving parts). Also ventilation holes are absent which makes dust penetration control not necessary. Normal temperature mode is supported owing to low energy consumption. This also allows to reduce operation costs
  • Hot standby possibility - in spite of high reliability in critically important applications Atoll-M routers can be used in hot stand-by mode. When one device goes wrong its functions are taken by a stand-by router without significant breaks in users servicing

PRODUCT HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Automatic network configuration specification - appliance realizes mechanisms of dynamical distribution and analysis of incoming routing information and fulfills optimal data transfer routes. If necessary it is possible to use static (manually set) routes for data exchange
  • Optimal communication links use, Multilink PPP support — router provides communication links bandwidth usage optimization, during operation on low speed links it is possible to use several links jointly to transfer one data set (Multilink). When data is transferred efficient compression algorithms of data and TCP/IP packets headers are used
  • VPN — Virtual public networking and routing between several virtual networks

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS:

  • Full compatibility with IPv4 protocol stack and other vendors routers
  • Routing throughput: more than 130 000 packets/sec
  • Network protocols: Ethernet, 802.1q, PPP, LAPB
  • Supported protocols: IP, ARP, ICMP, TCP, UDP
  • Routing protocols: OSPFv2, RIPv1, RIPv2, Triggered RIP
  • System management protocols: Telnet, SSH, Syslog, SNMPv1, SNMPv2, SNMPv3
  • Efficient compression algorithms of data and TCP/IP packets headers
  • Diffserv technology — Quality of Service Support for VoIP, IP TV, video and other real-time and data services
  • Point-to-point links aggregation (Multilink PPP)
  • Routing between VLANs (IEEE 802.1q)
  • Network Addresses and Ports Translation (NAT), local network internal structure masking
  • Functions of transport (UDP, TCP) and applied (FTP, HTTP) gateways
  • Communication links state monitoring (also in case of absence of data transfer)
  • Hot stand-by possibility (VRRP)

ROUTER OPERATION MANAGEMENT:

Router state monitoring and setting its operation parameters can be fulfilled in the following ways:

  • Locally by means of PC connected via serial management port (RS-232)
  • Remotely by means of telnet or SSH protocol (with the help of terminal program)
  • Remotely by means of SNMPv1, SNMPv2 or SNMPv3 protocols
  • Remotely by means of INT-OSS network management software with graphic user interface (with the help of special secure protocol)

INT-OSS network management software operates under Windows and Linux OS. Users can get the following options:

  • One or several routers state monitoring, indication of modules and interfaces operating parameters
  • Faults notification
  • Network topology graphic representation
  • Visual indication of the appliance operation parameters
  • Hot stand-by and the appliance operation parameters restoring
  • Registration of events happening in the devices
  • Reporting of the appliances functioning
  • Diagnostic programs execution (sending/control of test packets etc.) locally or on the appliance being managed for network faults discovering
  • Functions of transport (UDP, TCP) and applied (FTP, HTTP) gateways

PRODUCT DESIGN:

  • The case allows its standard 19”-rack mounting (2U height). The device has no movable elements and does not require forced cooling.

WEIGHT AND DIMENTIONS:

  • Dimensions: 483x360x88 mm.
  • Weight: 10 kg.

POWER SUPPLY:

  • Power supply: 220 V AC(50 Hz).
  • Power consumption: less than 100 W.
